Benhaim Winery is a boutique family winery that's been in the winemaking business since since 1932.
Ruth and Eli Benhaim started off in northeastern Romania where they hand built solid oak barrels to store the wine. When they emigrated to Israel they established the country’s first wine barrel facility. Eli Ben-Haim started out as an apprentice cooper, and eventually came to love everything about wine, its culture and cultivation.
In 1970, Ruth and Eli Ben-Haim set up a garagiste winery in their own home in Ramat Chen, and following 28 successful vintages they decided to establish a boutique winery. A short time later they transferred the winery to Kfar Azar, and finally to the ecological compound in Ramat Hasharon, where it has since remained.
